Hungry guests can dine with ravished rock stars at the attached restaurant Douglas Fir.  I highly recommend the eclectic menu, which includes soda pop wild boar ribs, salmon chowder and the famous “Fir” burger. After dinner, stroll past the bar and down a flight of stairs to find yourself at one of Portland’s best indy rock venues. Those looking for a more “colorful” experience can head across the parking lot and schedule an ink session at Jackalope Tattoo Studio.  The property also offers a hair salon, creative conference room and bike rentals.

What the rooms lack in size they make up for in creativity. Using the provided chalk you can jot down notes, draw or scribble flirty notes on the cute girl’s door down the hall. And don’t worry, the hotel is safe. I was greeted by two packs of condoms upon entering my room. The Jupiter Hotel has everything to feed your rock star soul. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation you might want to keep looking – the voices of lingering partiers can echo through the hotel’s courtyard til dawn.
